Movie Review-Mickey 17

When Academy Award winning filmmaker, Bong Joon-ho announced his next project "Mickey 17", I was intrigued as I haven't disliked any of his films (so far). Yes, "Snowpiercer" is arguably his lesser film, but it still has its moments.

After a few delays, Bong Joon-ho's latest film is now in theatres! After seeing it, I really had to mull on it. The film is so interesting and creative that I can't dismiss it, but some elements of the story and plot are executed better than others and it feels 20-30 minutes too long. It's been almost a week since I've seen it though and I still can't forget it. As disappointing as this film is, I just may need to watch it again which is rare for a film I have mixed thoughts on.

The highlight is the magnificent performance from Robert Pattinson who shines in a dual role. Yes he's technically a different version of the same character but the way Pattinson plays them, they are two different people with different personalities. There are times I forgot that they were both played by Pattinson. Robert continues to impress and show us that he's one of the finest and most versatile performers of this generation.
